Energety "SupHerb"

The daily grind, both at home and at the office, limited hours of sleep, irregular or disturbed sleep, mental stress - the way of life that we lead leaves its mark on all of us. We all feel a lack of energy, "drained," and both physically and mentally tired.
Physical tiredness may be the result of long-term illness, ongoing stress, intensive physical activity on the one hand or lack of activity on the other, and unbalanced or poor diet, lacking in essential nutrients.
All these lead to a loss of the energy reserves that the body needs, and to the growing feeling of tiredness so familiar to all of us.
Added to that is mental tiredness, marked by an inability to concentrate, absent-mindedness and a general rundown feeling. Mental fatigue can influence our physical abilities, and vice versa.

Energety is a unique formula from SupHerb, containing various medicinal herbs and nutrients that provide a response to the body`s need to cope with physical and mental tiredness and with stress and anxiety; it increases the body`s energy levels and maintains them at a high level throughout the day.

Main Uses

  • Making energy production more effective, and encouraging the burning of fat;
  • Maintaining a stable, high level of energy throughout the day;
  • Stimulating the nervous and respiratory systems.

About the Ingredients

* Siberian Ginseng, Korean Ginseng and American Ginseng (Eleutherococcus senticosus, Panax ginseng, P. quinquefolius)
Energety formula contains three types of ginseng - Siberian, American and Korean.

Like the other members of the ginseng family, these three species contain therapeutically-active ingredients called Ginsenosides (or, in the case of Siberian ginseng, Eleutherosides).

All three are considered to be adaptogenic herbs, because of their ability to help the body develop greater resistance to illness and stress, both physical and mental.

Many studies that examined the improvement in physical ability as a result of ginseng consumption, compared with a control group, indicate an improvement of results related to cardiovascular activity. These include a decrease in heart rate and an increase in the ability to utilize oxygen. Other studies showed an improvement in learning skills and concentration, and an improvement in psychometric test results, particularly those carried out after vigorous physical activity (2-6).

Other characteristics of ginseng include the strengthening of the immune system and anti-cancer activity. In a comparative study carried out in Korea among 4,634 people

aged 40 or over, it was found that, among the 3,267 of them who consumed ginseng on a regular basis, there was a lower risk of developing cancer (10).

* Siberian Ginseng (Eleutherococcus senticosus)
This plant originates in Siberia, and is considered a "cousin" of the other strains of ginseng. It is thought to be one of the more important adaptogenic plants, and many studies have shown its ability to lessen the incidence of illnesses, particularly those related to infection and environmental stress.

The plant`s properties are attributed mainly to glycosides, active ingredients found in the root.

Tiredness and fatigue are associated with poor body function as a result of ongoing stress, or the inability of the body to achieve reasonable equilibrium. The intake of a powerful adaptogenic herb, such as Siberian ginseng, contributes to the improvement of both mental and physical function.

This herb is also popular among sportsmen, both because of its ability to enhance oxygen utilization and adaptation to stress, and because of the fact that, as an adaptogenic plant, Siberian ginseng enhances the body`s hormonal response to the strong nervous stimuli typical of physical activity, thus enhancing sporting achievements and lessening the injuries and illnesses typical of vigorous sports activity.

The ability of Siberian ginseng to enhance concentration has an important role in the mental preparation needed before and during competition.

* Korean Ginseng (Panax ginseng)
This plant is found in the forests of Asia, Manchuria and Korea. This medicinal herb is most commonly used to strengthen the body and is known to have a "warming" influence.

Unlike American ginseng, which enhances the "Yin" (feminine) energy, Korean ginseng stimulates the "Yang" (masculine) energy.

The root of the plant is endowed with therapeutic qualities and the ability to strengthen the three forces that exist in the individual: body, mind and soul.

By virtue of its adaptogenic qualities, and its support for adrenal gland function, Korean ginseng greatly assists in coping with stress or stressful environmental conditions.

It is considered a general tonic, and as a remedy for fatigue and weakness, low resistance to infection, stress, poor materials exchange and aging.

It regulates (in particular, stimulates) the immune system, increases appetite, lowers the level of cholesterol in the blood, calms spasms, and improves both physical and mental/intellectual abilities.

Tests carried out at clinics in Europe have shown that it improves concentration and alertness, shortens reaction times, and improves visual and motor coordination.

Korean ginseng has a mildly stimulating influence on the nervous system, and it contributes to an increase in alertness and cognitive processes.

It serves mainly as a non-specific resistance to stress, enhances energy production and blood circulation, and improves the function of the sexual glands.

All of the research carried out to date on American and Korean ginseng shows that ginseng improves mental and physical output, particularly among older people (above 40), provided that the ginseng is used regularly for an extended period (at least eight weeks) and at an effective concentration (200-600 milligram of ginseng extract).

* American Ginseng (P. quinquefolius)
This plant originates in North America, and is known to have a "cooling" effect. It is also known for its calming effect, particularly on the digestive and respiratory systems. It stabilizes the blood pressure and calms the body in situations of stress.

According to Chinese medicine, American ginseng is considered somewhat weaker and less stimulating than its Korean counterpart. It is characterized as calming or soothing, and is often prescribed for treatment of severe stress or after long-term illness. It is an excellent herbal remedy for those suffering from chronic fatigue, depression, or generalized weakness caused by stress or strenuous work. It has an influence on the nervous system, the hormonal system and digestion, and is considered a "yin" enhancer. These characteristics have been borne out by studies that examined the amounts, ratios and functions of the natural active components in American ginseng.

Recently, a number of studies showed that American ginseng has hypoglycemic qualities that can contribute to balancing sugar levels in the blood.

A study was carried out on 16 women, some of whom took American ginseng in doses of 100 mg or 200 mg for a period of eight weeks, while others received a placebo. It was found that the group who received ginseng showed a drop in blood sugar levels and in weight, compared with the placebo group. They also showed an increase in physical activity and an improvement in general well-being. The group taking ginseng also showed better results in psychometric tests (7). Similar results have also been observed in other studies (8, 9).

There is a large variation in the quality of various ginseng products. A study that examined 25 different ginseng products found differences of between 43 and 200 times in the concentrations of the main components of ginseng. Therefore, it is important to only use ginseng from companies with a reputation for supplying quality ginseng (13).

* L-Taurine
L-Taurine is an amino acid produced from two other amino acids, methionine and cysteine, and is a basic building block for all the other amino acids. It is also use in the production of bile, and is thus important in the digestion of fats and the absorption of fat-soluble vitamins.

L-Taurine is found particularly in heart muscle, skeletal muscle, the brain and the eyes, and is thus essential for the protection of the brain and maintaining visual function. It is also essential for the proper utilization of sodium, potassium, calcium and magnesium, and prevents the loss of potassium from the heart muscle.

* Rhodiola Root (Rhodiola Rosea)
The Rhodiola plant, also called Golden Root, grows mainly in the arctic regions of Eastern Siberia.

Trials carried out with this plant have provided the scientific basis for a number of important uses: strengthening body function; strengthening the nervous system - a mild stimulant and anti-depressant effect; an adaptogenic effect that enhances the body`s endurance, allowing it to cope with situations requiring mental and physical effort and reduce the time required to recover from strenuous activity; and protection for the heart in stressful situations.

Research has examined the influence of the plant on improving mental abilities affected by tiredness following strenuous activity. In this trial, doctors undertook a number of tests requiring short term memory, the ability to learn and understand material, concentration and creative thinking. In all the trials, those doctors who took rhodiola achieved better results than those who did not take it. Similar results were observed among students during examinations. This study showed, in addition to the mental advantage, a general improvement in physical ability among those students who took rhodiola.

Rhodiola improves mental and psychological activity by inhibiting the breakdown of dopamine and serotonin in the brain, and preventing a drop in their levels in stressful situations.

Various studies have shown that rhodiola has capabilities similar to that of Prozac in the treatment of depression and improving mental state.

Rhodiola has also been shown to increase the efficiency of protein uptake into the muscles for building muscle mass, and is therefore taken by many sportsmen.

* Vitamin B-12 and Vitamin B-3
Lack of vitamins may cause a drop in the body`s ability to function at optimal levels. Vitamins also have an influence on behavior and on mental ability.

Surveys that examined the physical condition of adults have regularly shown deficiencies in the levels of certain vitamins.

A study carried out in an adult population in Australia showed that the level of Vitamin B-3 was 70% of recommended levels, and the level of Vitamin B-12 was 90% of recommended levels.

Extended physical activity is accompanied by a drop in Vitamin B-3 levels in the blood. Vitamin B-3 is involved in the production of energy in the cell (ATP).

Vitamin B12 is also useful in cases of weakness, fatigue or depression. It takes part in the metabolism of fats and in the production of proteins. This vitamin is essential for the production of red blood cells. A lack of Vitamin B12 is accompanied by anemia, characterized by chronic fatigue. Serious, long-term deficiency of Vitamin B12 affects the nervous system, and is reflected in a reduction in cognitive ability.
