Super Medic - Superlas for the treatment of constipation

Constipation is a very common disorder of the digestive system, occurring in about 20% of the population. There are a number of criteria for determining when someone is suffering from constipation, including: three or fewer bowel movements in a week, excessive effort required for defecation, and hardened stools that are uncomfortable to pass - even if the frequency is regular. Constipation is more common in the elderly, while women are in general more likely to be constipated than men.

Causes of Constipation:
There are a number of etiologies for constipation. Some are related to nutrition. For example, insufficient fiber intake and inadequate hydration. Physiological causes include: weak pelvic muscles, anal fissures, prolapsed hemorrhoids, a stuck fecal mass, depressed colon activity, and more. When a person is in a state of constipation, non-digested food remains in the digestive system significantly longer than is the norm. If the constipation persists, moisture continues to be absorbed into the intestinal walls, leaving the food being digested to dry up and develop into hardened feces, while the extra pressure can lead to hemorrhoids and/or fissures. In general, the prevention of constipation depends on the following principles:

Drinking at least 12 glasses of fluid per day (wetter intestines and fecal matter allow for easier movement).

Eating regular meals distributed throughout the day, and avoiding processed foods (e.g. white bread, white rice, cakes, chocolates and sweets).

Regular Exercise (It is recommended to walk at least 30 minutes every day).

Increasing dietary fiber intake.
