BCAA contains three essential branched-chain amino acids (L-Leucine, L-Isoleucine and L-Valine) with a unique molecular structure, which are present in high concentrations in skeletal muscle.

As a result of intensive and ongoing physical activity, accelerated wear of the muscles occur (destruction of tissue protein) due to the need to supply readily available, intra-muscular energy-rich compounds.
One of the ways the body efficiently uses energy during physical activity is by breaking down protein and converting it to sugar. This catabolic emergency process, which increases the overall carbohydrate reservoir, is called the "alanine cycle".

This is not an efficient process and, moreover, the result is accelerated wear of the muscles, particularly if the muscle is glycogen depleted. Ingestion of BCAA slows down muscle wear

resulting from intensive physical activity.
Ingestion of BCAA before or during intensive physical activity stimulates protein synthesis and will result in better recovery of muscular tissue.

Sources of BCAA
The recommended daily allowance of BCAA is 3 gram.
This is the proper minimal amount for someone who does not engage in physical activity and is easily supplied by protein-rich food (meat, fish, cheeses, soya, eggs, beans). On the other hand, intensive physical activity depletes the muscles, thus increasing the need for BCAA, which is the fuel for the rebuilding of tissue protein in the alanine cycle. The recommended daily allowance is 5-20 gram. It is not recommended to consume more than 7 gram BCAA at one time. Ingestion of a higher dose of BCAA may result in competitive inhibition of absorption of other amino acids, causing an uncomfortable feeling in the digestive system.

Prevention of muscular depletion due to ongoing physical activity
BCAA's are key components in the structure of skeletal muscle. Since the training process is basically "destructive", it is advisable to consume a proper amount of BCAA to allow rehabilitation and rebuilding of tissue damaged during the training.
BCAA deficiency harms the efficiency of the building process and slows down the recovery process after training. Supply of BCAA before and during training limits the damage inflicted on the muscle (destruction of tissue protein).

Alleviation of feeling of fatigue accompanying ongoing physical activity
Ongoing physical activity decreases BCAA concentrations and increases plasma free fatty acid (FFA) levels, resulting in increased synthesis of the neurotransmitter serotonin, which causes a feeling of tiredness. Decreased blood BCAA concentrations and increased FFA levels facilitate crossing the blood-brain barrier of the amino acid tryptophan, the precursor of serotonin. A rise in brain tryptophan concentration induces an increase in serotonin production and this enhances the feeling of tiredness. BCAA supplementation stops tryptophan from crossing the blood-brain barrier and reduces the tiredness accompanying intensive physical activity.

Instructions for use: 4-6 capsules per one hour of intensive physical training
Remark: It is recommended to consume half the amount before the training, and the remainder during the training session.
